The Chiranian has a distinctly round head, tapering muzzle, large, round eyes and moderately sized, erect ears. Their long body and short limbs can be covered in a short to very long coat.

A fully-grown Chiranian is between 6 to 9 inches tall and weighs between 2 to 10 pounds.

The temperament of the Chiranian may vary. They are generally good-natured, affectionate, protective dogs that enjoy being close to their family. They are very courageous which makes them a great watchdog. Chiranians seem to love everyone they meet.
