Appearance: Some Labrador Huskies may have more of a Husky appearance but taller while other will more closely resemble a Labrador Retriever.

Life Expectancy: The average life expectancy of the Labrador Husky is 10 to 15 years.

Characteristics: Labrador Huskies may be reserved with strangers unless very well socialized as puppies. The Labrador Husky will take advantage of you if you give them the opportunity so be careful not to give them the chance to do something like escape or steal food because they will. They can become destructive if left too much to their own devices and love to dig. These dogs have a strong prey drive and will go after small animals.

Show lines are generally heavier and easier going than field lines. They do not like to be left alone, so if this is the breed for you, you may want to consider having two. Often the best pets are from combination show/field stock. Remember that the Labrador Husky is a sled dog in heart and soul. If you are planning to show, buy only from a reputable breeder.

Some of their talents include: hunting, tracking, retrieving, watchdogging, police work, narcotics detection, guide for the blind, service dog for the disabled, search and rescue, sledding, carting, agility, and competitive obedience. English Labrador Huskies mature faster than the American type.

Temperament: The Labrador Husky is a loving, affectionate, lovable, patient dog. This cheerful dog is very fond of his or her family. Lively and good-natured, they love to play, especially in water - for they love to swim. Though they do generally have a lot of energy, especially as puppies. They crave human attention and need to feel as though they are part of the family.

Family Dog: The Labrador Husky makes a great family dog.

Companionship: Labrador Huskies can make wonderful companions for people who are aware of what to expect from these beautiful and intelligent animals.

Head: The head of the Labrador Husky is somewhat triangular in shape.

Eyes: The Labrador Husky may have two different color eyes including one brown eye and one half blue half brown eye.

Ears: The ears of the Labrador Husky are pointy and can stand erect at time but are typically down.

Feet: The Labrador Husky has long feet and web-like paws.

 

Tail: The tail of the Labrador Husky curls like a Husky's and is black with white pointy tip.

Color: The coat of the Labrador Husky can be black and white with some copper or light brown mixed in.

Coat: The Labrador Husky has a double coat.

Shedding: The Labrador Husky is a heavy shedder.

Training: Labrador Huskies are very intelligent and trainable, but they have a mind of their own and will only obey a command if they see the point. Labrador Huskies may be difficult to housebreak.

Behavior: The Labrador Husky is extremely friendly and curious.

Barking: The Labrador Husky is typically more quiet than the Husky.

Feeding: Labrador Huskies are thrifty eaters and need less food than you might expect. They can be fed their daily amount in one or two meals.

Weather: Some Labrador Huskies may hate the rain.

Exercise: The Labrador Husky loves to run so daily exercise is a must.

 

Living Arrangements: The Labrador Husky should have a house with at least a medium sized yard.

Eye Health: The Labrador Husky typically has no eye issues.

Ear Health: The Labrador Husky may have a problem with parasites so becareful to check their ears often.
