History:
The Mastapeake is a hybrid cross between an Old English Mastiff and a Chesapeake Bay Retriever developed in the United States taking their stature and gentle giant demeanour from the Old English Mastiff and the working ability, trainability, agility of the original American wild fowling dog, the Cheaspeake Bay retriever. The objective when combinding these two Rare Breeds is to obtain the size and loyalty of an Old English Mastiff with the agility and stamina of a Chesapeake Bay Retriever. Also to achieve a thicker more dense waterproof coat. The Chesapeake gets its waterproof thick coat from being a direct descendant of the Newfoundland. The Mastapeake is a rare and original breed, bred for purpose.
