Common Scams

• If at all possible deal locally and in person. This is an almost surefire way to avoid being scammed.
• Avoid using Western Union, MoneyGram or other money wiring services. These are almost always a signal of a scam.
• Be careful of accepting Money Orders or Cashiers Checks. Scammers are using FAKES to pay you. The bank will cash them and you will then be responsible for the amount.
• NEVER give out any of your Financial Information including your Bank Account, Credit/Debit Card, Social Security Numbers etc. Scammers will take all your money and ruin your credit.
