Rescue dog

I just made an application to adopt a Doxiepoo from a local no kill shelter. This little guy, who they named "Goofy", was abused by a man or men and only trusted a woman at the kennel to pet him or hold him. When they saw I am a single woman they practically pulled me to this dog ,who was terrified of me. They had me walk him, and in fifteen minutes he was rolling over to be tummy rubbed . He licked my hand, and I was confident he is just the right dog for me. He has been groomed, so only his tail gives him away as part poodle, although his fur is silky. He is adorable, apricot cream with a sweet and funny face. He is great with cats, fun to be with, and although short legged, he is game to go up stairs and he likes other dogs. He is a gem. He is content with short walks but will love being able to investigate my back yard. The Westport Animal rescue will hopefully approve me, after checking my vet and personal references, and I will be the happy companion of Lucky. I suggest anyone looking for a sweet and gentle small dog consider a rescue organization, you never know what you will be lucky enough to find.

Papipoo

My husband and I own 3 pure breds. We own a schipperke, a pembroke welsh corgi and a bichon frise. The schippe is a female and the two others are males. I would prefer a female if possible. The only problem we had was initially at the beginning when we brought our bichon (3 years old now)home. My corgi (7 years old) had some problems adjusting to him and was quite jealous but within a month starting to deal with him. He is the dominant one in the house, however we feel he is also the most anxious one as well. Both my schippe and bichon are very playful. We only have a 20 year old daughter in college so no young children. I love both mixes of breeds and would also take a papichon as well but my first choice is the papipoo because I think I would have the easiest time training both of these highly intelligent breeds.

Alpale

We got our borador from a rescue shelter, she is about three years old. At first we were not sure what she was. I stumbled on a web site talking about boradors she fits the description to a T, the strange habits watching TV hording the family into one room she has been nothing but a joy for the family. A very smart dog she knows when she has done something wrong like chew a shoe or a sock. Very playful and desires attention all the time good with adults as well as kids.

My Doxie-pin

I recently got my Doxie-Pin puppy just over a month ago. I must say, aside from being absolutley gorgeous and adorable, she has a fantastic personality. She is cuddly, sweet but also can be independent and fearless. She's just starting to love walking on the leash and we take her out to run and play every day. She can be a bit stubborn and give me that "face" when she doesn't want to listen to commands, but is only 13 weeks and is almost house-trained. She sits, lays down, gives paw and we're working on stay. She is the light of my life and I can't imagine life without her!

Franklin

Franklin is a 2 year old Jack a bee. He was found wondering the streets of Virgina at 10 weeks old. He was transferred to Rochester NY through a shelter exchange. I adopted him when he was about 12 weeks old. Franklin is super energetic. He loves chewing on bones and digging holes if I give him the chance. This time of the year his favorite activity is to seek out chipmunks.Franklin loves everybody he meets so he is never going to be a watch dog though he lets me know when somone is coming to the door. He has a large vocabulary: (down, stay, ice(he loves ice cubes) shake( he can alternate paws when I ask him to), bit(stands up on his 2 rear legs, water, ball, bone, over, time to eat, is someone here?, stay..many more to list He is well behaved for the most part as long as he can burn off his daily energy. He could get into mischief if he doesn't get some form of execise. He loves strawberries. They are the only "table food" I feed him. He is trim(20 lbs), he has muscular back legs and exhibits traits from both breeds. His nose is to the ground 24-7. He likes to explore and wants to catch squirrels and chipmunks though I hate to tell him they are faster than him.He puts his snout up my gutters to see if he can smell these rodents.

Pepper

We got pepper when he was 6wks old, he is now almost 6 months old. He loves to play and run throughout the house and tries to get in the shower with mom. I have to put water on his nose to get him out. His colorings are brown and black short hair and loves to be brushed. Pepper brings alot of joy to our Family.
