Our Communities first went live on August 22, 2007. We began with a Poodle Mix Community and then due to requests we expanded to include all Mixed-Breed dogs with a separate site for Purebred Dogs on January 9, 2008. For more information about or site please visit our

Why should I register?
By registering on our site you are able 'Add your Dog' which allows you to create a Bio and Photo Gallery for your Dog. Registering also allows you to post classified ads, participate in discussions, rate photos and much more. The features on our site are constantly being updated and added. If you have a
suggestion of something you would like to see on our site please

How do I join your site?
If you would like, you can become a member of our community by registering
here.
I am a member of one of your communities, do I need to register again to join another?
No, once you have registered on DesignerMixes.org or PurebredPups.org you can login to the other site using the same username and password.
Will my personal information be displayed to others?
No, we are aware of the privacy and security concerns of our members. We only show non-secure information to our visitors including your username, first name, gender, city, state, zip, country and sign-up date. We will never display your secure information including your email address to our visitors
without your permission. If you have any questions or concerns please
contact us.
What do I do if I forget my username?
Should you forget your username, click the
Forgot username link on the
login page. . On the next page, enter the email address you used when registering. Your username will be sent
via email to that address.
What do I do if I forget my password?
Should you forget your password, click the
Forgot password link on the
login page. Enter your username and the answers to your password reset questions. A temporary password will be sent via email.
How do I change my password?
Login to your account. Click on the
My Information link. On the next page enter your existing password and your new password twice and click
submit.
I originally came in through facebook, but now I can't seem to remember my password.
If you registered through Facebook then when you login you need to click the blue Facebook Login button in the upper right corner of the site. This will log you in using your Facebook credentials. After you login in using Facebook you can setup your password reset questions to have your password reset
for you. Then you can login using either the Facebook login button or our site’s standard login.
Dog Registration

Login to your account.
- Click the Add a Dog link under the 'Dogs' Section.
- Enter your Dog's Name, Breed, Gender, Birth Date, Height and Weight. You may also enter any optional information you wish to include. Click the Submit button.
If you cannot find your Dog's breed/mix in our list, please
request a Breed to be added to our list.

Login to your account.
- Under the My Dog's section on the left, click the name of the dog for which you wish to edit the bio.
- Make any changes you wish to make and click the Submit button.
Picture Services

Login to your account.
- Click My Photos.
- Choose the name of the dog for which you want to edit the photos.
- Click Add a Picture for [dog's name]
- Click the Browse button to select your photo.
- Click the Preview button to see a preview of the picture you selected.
- Click the Upload button to finish uploading your picture.
The photo will be posted to our gallery immediately. We do however review our photos and if your photo does not meet our guidelines it may be removed at any time.

Login to your account.
- Click My Photos.
- Choose the name of the dog for which you want to edit the photos.
- Click on the photo you wish to change.
- Make any needed changes.
- Click the save.
To remove one of your photos, follow the steps above to edit a photo. While on the Edit Your Photo Page click the Delete. This will remove the photo from your account and your Dog's Photo Gallery.

Login to your account.
- Click My Photos.
- Choose the name of the dog for which you want to edit the photos.
- Click on the photo you wish to edit.
- Add/Edit the caption.
- Click the save.
- Make sure you are logged in to your account.
- Find the photo for wish you want to comment and click the Rate this Photo.
- Enter any comments you wish and choose your rating using the paw prints (10 is the best!)
- Click submit

Login to your account.
- Click My Photos.
- Choose the name of the dog for which you want to delete the photo.
- Click on the photo you wish to delete.
- Click the delete.
Ad Services

Login to your account.
- Click the Create an Ad link under the 'Ads' Section.
- Enter all of the required information and click the Submit button.
In order to maintain the integrity of our site we must review every ad that is submitted before it will be posted for others to view. This process is usually done quickly but may take up to 48 hours for your ad to be posted.
All Classified Ads include the following:
- Your own Title and Text to attract viewers.
- A link for members to respond to your Ad privately without displaying your email address to unwanted viewers.
- A link to your Member Profile so others can learn more about you.
- Free Help & Support available via email or phone.
Our 'Dogs For Rescue' & 'Dog Merchandise' Ads include:
- Up to 4 FULL SIZE Pictures with every Ad placed.
- A link to your website to increase traffic and allow interested individuals to contact you directly.
Once your ad has been successfully submitted you can modify your ad at any time with the following steps:

Login to your account
- Click the Edit link to the right of the Ad's title.
- Make any changes you wish to your add and click the Submit.
* NOTE: your ad will become unavailable when you make changes until the changes have been reviewed. Once reviewed, your ad will be re-posted.
If you have placed a 'Dogs For Rescue' or 'Dog Merchandise' Ad you will be able to submit up to 4 pictures to accompany your Ad.
When you submit your ad you can choose how long you would like to post it for. Ads can be posted for 1 week, 1 month or 3 months.
If you sell your Merchandise before your ad expires you can delete your ad at anytime by clicking delete under that ad in the 'Ads' section of your Account Homepage.
In order to protect your privacy your email address will not be shown to others. When someone responds to your ad you will receive an email containing the response. A copy of the message will also be available when you login to your account.
Unfortunately, there are tons of scams going around the internet lately. These scammers will use any site where you have posted ads, contact information, etc to attempt these scams. For more information and tips to protect yourself visit our
Common Scams page.
If the type of Ad you have created allows pictures you can upload up to 4 pictures for your Ad by clicking on the Add/Edit Pictures link under that Ad.
To remove photos currently posted with your add click on the Add/Edit Pictures link under that Ad.
If your Ad is expired or nearing expiration you can extend it's expiration date by clicking on the Extend Expiration link under that Ad and completing the payment if required.

To upgrade your account:

Login to your account
- Click the Upgrade Account link on your Account Home Page.
- Complete the payment via Paypal.
Once your payment has been processed you will receive an email letting you know your account has been upgraded. Blogs

- Click Create Entry under the 'Blog' Section on your Account Homepage.
- Enter the Title and Text of your entry.
- Choose the Category for your entry and click the Save button.
To post a comment to another members's blog:

Login to your account.
- Click the Add Comment link.
- Enter your comment and click the Save button.
We will periodically review the Blog entries and comments. If we find material that is rude, threatening, illegal or otherwise offensive that portion of or the entire content will be removed and your account may be terminated.
To create a new category for your Blog entries follow the steps above for Creating a Blog Entry. Then click the Create New Category link next to the Category drop down list. Enter your new category and click the Save button. Your new catgory will now be available in the Category list.
Yes, our Blogs are in our public domain meaning any visitor to our site can read your entries.
You can get the link directly to your Blog to provide to your family and friends by clicking on the Get Link link under the 'Blog' section on your Account Homepage.

- Enter your reply and click the Post New Reply button. Your post will be added to the discussion thread.

Messaging

Login to your account.
- Locate the member you wish to contact in our Member List or via our Member Search.
- Click the Contact Me link in their Member Profile.
- Fill in the subject and message and press the Send button.
You can choose if you would like to receive an email notification when you receive a new message. To change your preferences click the Edit Preferences under the 'Personal Information' Section on your Account Homepage.
Your Messages will appear on the right-hand side of your Account Homepage. To read the message, click on the subject of the message.
To reply to a message you have received, follow the steps above to read the message. Click the Reply button. Enter your message and click the Send button.
Yes, in order to cut down on the opportunity for 'Spammers' to utilize our site to target its members we have imposed a limit on the number of Messages any one member can send in a 24 hour period. Currently the limit is 5 but we reserve the right to change it at any time.
Should you ever receive a message targeting you in any way please
let us know immediately and do NOT reply to the message or provide them with any of your information. We take things like this very seriously and do everything we can to ensure you do not receive them. For more

Breeders & Breeding
I am looking to breed my do. Do you have any advice?
We are sorry but we cannot provide any advice about breeding your dog except do your research and then research some more. Breeding a dog is something that should not be undertaken lightly. There are many complications that can arise from the actual breeding process as well as the birthing for the
mother. Both parents should be at least two years and of very sound temperament. They should be thoroughly health screened by a vet before breeding. Below are a couple of links to an article and a discussion that can hopefully give you some more things to consider in your venture.

Unfortunately, we are not in the practice of keeping breeder information. If you are looking for a specific breed or mix we first of all urge you to check Petfinder.com or your local shelter. You may just be able to find such a mix there and help save a life!
If you do not wish to adopt or cannot find a dog you are looking for you are more than welcome to place a free wanted ad on our site.
