Mandy's Story & Details
I got Mandy from a farm in Knoxville where the owners had purchased she and her sister, thinking they were purebred Chihuahuas. Mandy and her sister turned out to look more terrier-like and so they no longer wanted them. Maybe they had planned on breeding? Anyway, Mandy and her sister were kept OUTDOORS!!! In IOWA!!! Perhaps they had shelter, but she was very dirty and stinky when I got her and she was a bit skinny. She also had never had dog toys. You should see her spin in glee and covet any stuffed animals I give her! It's SO funny and touching to see the pure joy on her face! She's also decided now that she doesn't need to go outside to use the restroom unless the weather is nice and the ground is dry. Why, I have no idea--you would think she would think nothing of going out for a minute in crappy weather since she LIVED in it before! Grrr! I'm guessing she is a rat terrier/Chihuahua mix because of her size (she seems too big to be a toy fox/chi mix or to be a jack/chi mix. If you think you know what type of mix she is though, I'd love to hear from you! Those doggie DNA tests don't sound very accurate and rat terrier isn't even one of the breeds they test for! :-(
