Hank's Story & Details
Hank was turned in to the animal shelter the day after Halloween. He is very scared of loud noises, and we think that somebody may have taken him to a loud Haloween part, or he heard fireworks or something, and he escaped where he was. He had been neglected somewhat: his teeth were worn down from chewing on his chain; he had scratch marks on his legs from rubbing against metal; and, he was heartworm positive and wasn't neutered.

Hank is a big guy-- he tore down my daughter's apartment door one night when they left him home alone in their 3rd story apartment and a storm came through. When he came to live with me, he would jump in and out of the chain link fence, so we put an electric charge around the back yard to keep him in (he only touched it a couple of times, but some neighbors were afraid of his bark and size, so i had to do something to keep him in the yard). The last time he jumped the fence was to attack a rooster in my from yard, which was over two years ago. Now, when the gate is opened, he doesn't try to get out.

Hank is a great watchdog and yard protector. He could also help if you wanted fur for use in a blanket-- he sheds quite a bit!
