HAPPY's Story & Details
Happy came from the New Jersey Schnauzer Rescue Network. I saw his picture on Petfinder. I got him when he was two years old. We live in Ohio. It was an 8 hour trip one way.

He had been an abused puppy during the fist two years of his life. It was a real job trying to earn his trust.
Before that happened he bit my wife on the finger and me on the hand.(16 stitches) But,I did not give up on him.
He has become the most lovable and trusting dog who ever owned me.

I've had a dog most of my life. He is, without a doubt, is the best one ever.

Happy is still weary of strangers who he thinks might harm him. We have to be very attentive when someone comes to the house as he feels threatened. We've found it is best if house guests don't focus on him.(Just act as as though he was not there.)

Happy rides with me on my Harley. I rigged a seat for him on the back and and got him a pair of DOGGLES to protest his eyes. We have spent countless hours riding country roads looking for cows that he barks at.

If you would like to see the videos of some of his rides just go to "YouTube.com" then do a search for "topp40", my user name.
The videos are there.

I have never been as close to a dog as I am with Happy.
I guess it is because he trusts me so much.

Note: Happy passed away at age 13 on May 15, 2010 it was the saddest day of my life. I miss him today, I'll miss him tomorrow and I'll miss him the rest of my life.
