Maisy's Story & Details
We first came upon Maisy when a family member said she had some puppies. I had no intention on getting one but I can not resist looking at some pups. My five y/o daughter & I went over there to take a look. Maisy & her brother at the time were only 3 wks old. I seen her & was immediately hooked & wanted her. My landlord unfortunately told me I could not have pets where I was living. But, my Doctor on the other hand has been bugging me for 3.5 years to get a companion pet.. said 'it would help my stress level & anxiety' So I went through the proper steps to get the paper work needed for it.. and presented it to my landlord. He agreed :) I was super stoked, but we had to wait till Maisy was about 6-8 weeks before we could take her home. So we waited .. an waited.. and waited. So one week before we were supposed to be getting Maisy (she would've been 6 wks of age) we got a call that 3 puppies had died in the litter. Their were a total of 7 I believe, I asked if Maisy was one of them.. She wouldn't give me a yes or no answer. My heart was broken & I was devastated.. what was I supposed to tell my five year old?!? My heart sank.. I cried for days.. Than I finally got the courage to tell my daughter our puppy went to heaven & we wouldn't be seeing her again.. Her eyes filled with tears & she said "Mommy, Maisy will always remain in my heart forever!" I lost it.. we both cried for nearly an hour.. It was one of the hardest things I've dealt with in quite sometime.. Needless to say we steered clear of the puppy search because nothing compared to 'our Maisy' Well nearly four weeks go by.. & all the sudden we get a phone call that this 'other lady' who had the other surviving pups.. had 'our Maisy' she lied & said she & one other pup died because she was planning on selling them to make a profit.. Not only was I upset but angry that someone could do that to a person.. but a child?!? I was so beyond excited to learn our puppy was going to finally come home.. I had mixed emotions.. I never told my daughter the full story because she's only five.. But we have had Maisy in our home since 8/30/11 & it has been both good & bad. But now, things are better than ever.. Maisy was truly a blessing in disguise & we love her to pieces. Now I've never owned a mix breed before & am unsure of how big she'll get & stuff like that. So if anyone can give me any sort of feedback I'd surely appreciate it.
