Now I know where the socks go!

Know how when you do laundry and you never can pair up your socks?
I know where mine go...Buddy eats them!

My son and I were sitting together watching TV. I had taken off my shoes and socks (footie). Buddy has snagged my socks before, but never tried to eat them!  He is chewing on the sock and I swear to goodness he "hovered" it in....As I yelled his name, he quickly spit the sock out.  BUT as soon as I went to grab the sock, he thought it was a game.  He ran upstairs and my son went after him.  Buddy usually hides under my son's bed when he has something he is not suppose to have, but instead he runs into my room, jumps on the bed and proceeds to swallow the sock whole!  My son yells down at me "HE ATE IT"!  I freak out....mind you Buddy will be 8 months old on 12/1/2011, so I am thinking terrible things.  I call our vet and they say Bring him in!
We take off to the vets office (Emergency Room cost, ugh), Buddy is fine, he loves to ride in the car.  I often open the sunroof so his head can stick out and he can air.  He loves it!
The vet requests to give him an injection to induce vomiting; it does not work.  Now what to do.  So here we are back at home ($110 later) walking the dog, waiting for him to pass a footie.

Will it come out in one piece or in bits?  Anyone have the answer?

Thought I would share a great online shopping resource.  They have occasionally had nice storage bins for dog/cat food in the Home Decor area.  Enjoy!

Crazy Buddy

We had no plans of getting another dog after our Cincy passed away.  We had to put Cincy down due to cancer.  She was 12 and half years old.  The best guard dog, very well behaved; but first she was a protector.  Many people were afraid of her; which I liked: I hate to say.  She was a Rottweiler/German Shepard Mix.
So one night; maybe two weeks after Cincy's passing, my son and I were messing around looking at puppies - more out of feeling a sense of loss than really looking.  Somehow we ended up on Craigslist.  I have no idea how we got there, as the last place I would look for a dog would be on Craigslist!
We ran across a picture of an adorable 7 week old puppy. They stated it was a boxer/Pyrenees.  I emailed the contact and to my surprise she emailed back within 15 minutes.  She has just posted the picture 45 minutes prior!  We talked a bit over email and then scheduled a time to see the pup the next day.
That is the story of how we got Buddy.  We saw him and fell in love.  He was so cute and fluffy!  We gave them $40 cash and away we went with a new puppy...thinking it is a Boxer/Pyrenees.  He is sweet as can be. I sleep on the floor on the opposite side of the baby gate as he is in the bathroom.
He starts to grow and we quickly realize he is not a boxer at all, but a golden retriever/pyrenees - confirmed by our wonderful vet at Grady Vet Hospital in Cincinnati.
We guess his birthday to be April 1.  A perfect date for him as he fooled us!
