Sophie turns one.

Sophie turned one today and we had a party. I was surprised at how many people actually came. My sister, my niece, great nephew, great niece, my daughter, her friend with her husband and two kids. It was a blast. They even brought her presents. I don't think she was real impressed but she was so good. Usually when people are here she barks constantly but she didn't today. Her daddy says it's because she knows she is a big girl now. LOL It's so funny how crazy we can get over our four legged children. I know I get "silly" sometimes when it comes to Sophie and Roody but it's because I know how much they love me and it is totally unconditional. Poor Roody is getting sicker by the day and he still has the strengh to wag his tail and "smile" at me to let me know that he loves me. From the time he was little he has always slept on the right side of me, as close to me as he can. I tried to imagine last night what it would be like to not have him there and I can't even imagine. He had a very bad coughing spell last night and Sophie and I was on the couch next to him. When he wss done, she jumped down and brought her little purple elephant up on the couch, laid it beside him and hen climbed back on my lap. I swear to you, she wss bringing it to him. What a sweet heart.

Happy Birthday my little girl.

Doin good

Sophie came through her spaying just fine and now with the Comfortis she is flea free. Yayyyyyyy I'm telling you what, that stuff is amazing. If anyone tries it, make sure you give it with food. She is so amazing. I still find her so cute. I sit and watch her and when she sees me watching she will run at me and make me pick her up. She has picked up some habits from Roody also. Roody is on Lasix for his heart and when he pees, he pees. It always gets on his feet so he will kick his feet and dry them on the ground. I have watched her watch him, and now at different times she will do the same thing with her feet. She doesn't quite know what she's doing and sometimes will tumble a little. We call her the mimic cause she even watches the cats and we will catch her sitting next to them or walking along side of them, just watching. I never tire of her that's for sure. She's better than TV, except on Sundays when her and I have to watch True Blood on HBO. She will sit with me and when she hears the opening music you can feel her kind of shake and just keep looking at me.

Sophie's Spay date

Sophie is at the vet right now being spayed. I am a nervous wreck. She gets so upset being away from me. When I handed her over to the assistant, she looked at me so scared. She didn't take her eyes off me the whole time they were walking away. Of course I cried! I know she will be fine, I trust my vet to take good care of her, but she is my baby. I have to call in 3 hours to check on her.

Barking

I think it must be a Chipoo thing cause my Sophie will bark at nothing!  When she hears a car door there is no stopping her.  I have tried everything, but she won't stop.  We have tried the treat at the door, the clicker, spray bottle, you name it.  I'm open to all suggestions.

Kicking

It doesn't bother me and yes we laughed at her. Sometimes when she's really kicking I will stand in front of her and kick my feet also. I know it sounds whacky but if it is her way of trying to say she's boss, I want her to know that I am the boss. She will do it when she wants to play, or if one of the other animals are in her way, so I think sometimes she thinks it makes her look bigger cause even my old cats are bigger than her. :)

Hi - Just found this site

Welcome! I can't wait to see pictures. I have a 1 yr old Chipoo and a 11 yr old Malchi. My Malchi wasn't thrilled when I brought home my Sophie but now they love eachother to death. Sophie watches everything he does and copies him. It's very cute to watch. Again, welcome and be sure to post pictures so I can see your little ones.
